This is the time when cowards flee and the courageous collect their spoils.
The fearful will fall off while the few will prosper. Ultimately Xiv long.

70% position in XIV.
Been thinking of late, can volatility in the form of XIV be manipulated as gold and oil have been and still are. It seems to me it may be more difficult. Riding Xiv has been fairly ez but we can all wake up some day and encounter the same issues that trading oil has had.

Absolutely - XIV pricing is all based on the VIX futures, which can be manipulated as easily as the underlying puts and calls on the SPX.

I'm just going to hold XIV and add if it dips.

That's smart. You're investing 4 times more than me.

Dow 30,000 will look pretty gaudy.

Which makes me overly cautious, perhaps. Truth is you would be hard pressed to beat a simple buy and hold of XIV. I mean the thing was at $32 on 11/7 of last year, now at 114. That is crazy.
